Sales skyrocket at aerospace co.
Farmington-based EDAC Technologies Corp. said its $12.3 million in first quarter sales were the company's highest total for the period in six years. Sales are more than $2.7 million higher than the first quarter of 2006. The company has a sales backlog of $31.6 million. Aerospace orders continue to drive EDAC's sales, it said, with a customer recently signing a letter of intent to purchase $4.5 million worth of jet engine parts. EDAC, however, disclosed no information about its profitability in the first quarter.
