Six of the state's 12 labor markets, including Worcester and Framingham, saw job increases between May and June, according to the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The Nantucket, Tisbury and Barnstable labor markets reported lower unemployment rates for June as seasonal employment increased. Barnstable saw the state's largest month-to-month increase, slightly more than 9,000 jobs.
Other labor markets to experience job gains in June were the Pittsfield, Haverhill-North Andover-Amesbury and Boston-Quincy-Cambridge areas.
Worcester and Framingham both added nearly 2,000 jobs during the month. Worcester's unemployment rate was 9.3 percent during the month. Framingham's was 7.1 percent.
Without seasonal adjustment, the state's unemployment rate was 8.7 in June compared to 8 percent in May. With seasonal adjustment, June's rate was 8.6 percent compared to 8.2 percent the previous month.
