Milford-based Thermo Electron Corp. has entered a collaborative R&D agreement with the Research in Immune Tolerance in Transportation (RITT) program in the BioDevelopment Laboratory (IBDL) at the Toronto General Hospital.
Under the terms of the agreement, the IBDL will be equipped with over $1 million (Canadian) of Thermo laboratory equipment. The use of Thermo's equipment represents one of the IBDL's largest investments in a single supplier.
The equipment that Thermo will provide includes incubators, freezers, biological safety cabinets, and a KingFisher magnetic particle processor, among other devices.
Thermo will also help fund the RITT program's objectives by funding a post-doctoral research scientist for two years, as well as providing training workshops in a variety of areas of expertise.
