Tower Hill Director To Retire

John Trexler, the executive director at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, will retire next month after nearly 28 years as executive director of the Worcester County Horticultural Society, which owns and operates Tower Hill.
Trexler will step down March 15, according to a Tower Hill statement. The horticultural group will launch a national search for his successor and will name a search committee soon.
Trexler is leaving after completing four capital projects and campaigns exceeding $30 million, according to Christopher Reece, president of the society's board of trustees. "John has been extraordinarily successful in working with the board of trustees and with major donors to see that the board's vision became reality."
