In November, the Worcester labor market's unemployment rate declined more than almost any other market, according to the state Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The Worcester market's jobless rate fell to 8.7 percent from 9 percent in October. Last November, the Worcester market's unemployment rate was 6.1 percent.
In all, 14 of the state's 22 labor market areas showed unemployment rate declines during the month. The state's unemployment rate decreased to 8.8 percent in November from 8.9 percent the previous month.
The Framingham and New Bedford areas had the greatest increase in jobs. Framingham added more than 1,000 jobs during the month.
The Leominster-Fitchburg-Gardner market's unemployment rate dipped from 10.9 percent to 10.8 percent. A year ago, it was 7.5 percent.
Similarly, Athol's jobless rate declined from 11.4 percent to 11.3 percent. Last November, its jobless rate was 7.3 percent.
