Worcester mental health agency raided by FBI
A Worcester mental health agency was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday, the bureau confirmed.
The raid of the Island Counseling Center on Grove Street was a court-authorized activity conducted in connection with an ongoing federal investigation, said FBI spokesperson Kristen Setera. Because the investigation is ongoing, Setera was unable to comment further.
According to its website, Island Counseling provides mental health services such as counseling, medication evaluation and management, educational and support groups, and advanced treatments like Trans-Magnetic Stimulation. A phone call to the agency wasn’t immediately returned Friday morning.
