WPI Researchers Form Health Care Tech Center

Researchers at Worcester Polytechnic Institute have established the Center for eHealth Innovation and Process Transformation to help health care organizations use new health information technology systems.

The center is a combination of WPI's research in technology, engineering, management and process development. It aims to help health care organizations improve patient care and efficiency by using electronic health records and other technology.

According to the center, there is a gap between new health care technology and the "real world processes of organizations that use the technology."

The center also joined with researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University and Veterans Administration New England Health Care to form the New England Healthcare Engineering Partnership.
