Thomas G. Fazzio, an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, earned a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from President Obama. It is the highest honor for scientists or engineers in the early stages of their careers. Fazzio was one of 102 nationwide selected for the award.

Destination Worcester, which promotes city tourism, announced that the New England Fuel Institute has moved its two annual conferences to the DCU Center as part of a multi-year deal. The three-day conferences, previously held in Framingham and Foxborough, could bring in $800,000 in revenue for the city.

ETR Laboratories of Leominster, an environmental testing company, won the 2013 Angie's List Super Service Award. Winners have met eligibility requirements, which include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade.

Whitinsville-based UniBank was named the top Small Loan Advantage Lender by the Massachusetts office of the U.S. Small Business Administration. UniBank approved 10 lower-dollar loans totaling $1.2 million in underserved communities as part of the program.

Milford-based Consigli Construction Co. was recognized for employee development, named to the Training Top 125 by Training magazine, a national publication. It was the second year in a row Consigli took honors.

Unum, an employee benefits company with offices in Worcester, will be inducted into the Junior Achievement of Northern New England Business Hall of Fame. The dinner celebration will be held March 13 in Boston.
