The Worcester Animal Rescue League has promoted Allie Simone from acting director to executive director and elected three new board members: Kim E. Stone, Matt LaBarre and Lori Schafer.
Simone has been acting director for the past year and has overseen the organization’s restructuring. She has worked for WARL for five years in various positions. She has a bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University and lives in West Boylston.
Stone is director of major giving for Worcester Academy. Previously, she worked as a United Methodist pastor in Chicopee and Grafton and as director of food services for Rosie’s Place in Boston. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University and a master’s in divinity from Boston University. She lives in Worcester.
LaBarre operates LaBarre Communications in Worcester. He has held volunteer leadership roles with organizations including AMC Cancer Research Center, Salvation Army ARC and American Cancer Society.
Shafter owns Lori Schafer Public Relations. She runs communications programs for arts and entertainment, health care, higher education and banking clients, and is particularly focused on nonprofits.
