Four local chambers of commerce are partnering with Mount Wachusett Community College to conduct the first survey of North Central Massachusetts business leaders.

The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce, the North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce and the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce are joining with MWCC for the "MWCC School of Business and Chamber of Commerce Executive Survey of Business Trends" survey. The confidential online survey, which was distributed beginning Nov. 1, is expected to be done annually.

According to MWCC, it targets business leaders of local firms and focuses on staffing, organizational culture, change management and marketing. The survey will track social marketing trends, local jobs forecast, new employee skills in demand, top college degrees in demand, organizational culture, employee benefits, organizational change management and what it takes to be a leader on the job.

According to MWCC, the results will help businesses in the area better predict hiring and business growth plans. A results report will be prepared by Michael T. Greenwood, management and economics professor and business department chair at MWCC, and distributed to the participating chambers.

"This annual survey will significantly expand the information local business leaders have at their disposal for strategic planning," Greenwood said. "In addition, it will be an important tool for anyone looking to get hired or grow their career in our local area. This is a win-win for businesses and potential employees."
