Commonwealth Care Alliance expands into Worcester

Boston healthcare nonprofit Commonwealth Care Alliance is expanding into Worcester with an office at 100 North Parkway, in order to create a bridge between the eastern and western regions of the state it services.

“This expansion is really about opening office space which will help our staff and will be a home base for about 60 of our administrative and clinical staff. We hope to serve more customers by now having a physical footprint in Worcester,” said Christopher Palmieri, CCA president and CEO.

CCA is a community-based healthcare organization offering health plans for people who are dually eligible for MassHealth and Medicare, providing individualized care for people with significant needs.

While the Worcester office space will primarily be for administrative purposes and not CCA members, one unique feature Palmieri hopes will allow for direct input from members. There will be a Member Voices Program, which will be a conference room specifically designed for members of the CCA to come forward and talk directly with representatives on what they feel could be improved or changed.

“The consumer’s input is what our whole organization is organized around,” said Palmieri.

The Worcester office space opened in November but due to COVID-19 precautions, administrative staff will be continuing to work remotely until further notice. CCA hopes to bring administration in during the early spring.
