Fallon selling $11M home care agency

WBJ File Richard Burke, president and CEO of Fallon Health.

Louisiana home health care provider Amedisys, Inc. next month will purchase a 40-year-Worcester home care agency from Fallon Health and VNA Care Network.

Fallon and VNA will sell the Home Staff company, which was founded in 1977 and offers professional nurses, chore workers, companions and certified nursing assistants to encourage independent living 24/7. The deal for the 502-employee company is expected to close Feb. 1.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Home Staff generates about $10.5 million in annualized revenue by serving 3,500 clients, according to Amedisys.

This is the third Amedisys acquisition in Massachusetts – after purchases in Boston and Danvers last year – part of an acquisition strategy launched in 2015.
