Harrington Hospital opens 24-bed Webster behavioral unit

UMass Memorial Health -- Harrington Behavioral Health Department announced Friday it has opened a new Adult Psychiatric Unit at its Webster campus on Thompson Road.
The new unit was partially funded by a $1.2-million grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
It will replace a unit located at the hospital’s Southbridge campus, and includes 24 newly renovated inpatient beds to address the shortage of beds in the Central Massachusetts region, the release said.
The newly opened unit also has 16 inpatient beds for co-occurring disorder patients and a full continuum of outpatient behavioral health services.
