Hotels turn the lights down low

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded its Energy Star label to three Boston-area hotels.

The Doubletree Guest Suites and Hyatt Harborside in Boston and the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge received the energy efficiency recognition Thursday. They join five others in the Boston area that already have the Energy Star designation.

Only one hotel in Worcester, the Courtyard by Marriott, is an Energy Star recipient, according to the EPA.
