Import Prices Climb 1.7%

The U.S. Import Price Index increased by 1.7 percent as fuel prices increased by 7.3 percent in November, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The increase followed a 0.8 percent advance in October.

Export prices rose 0.8 percent in November after a 0.2 percent increase the previous month.

The 1.7 percent increase in import prices in November continued a trend that has seen prices rise in eight of the past nine months. Over that period, prices have increased 10.1 percent.
