Career highlights:
I currently manage the daily operation of the Worcester office of Shepherd & Goldstein, including overseeing the workflow, staffing assignments, quality control issues and client responsibility. I have been with Shepherd & Goldstein for 10 years starting out right from school as a junior accountant. I have steadily risen through the ranks increasing my exposure to more complex client issues along with the management of our team.
Community involvement:
I am a classroom volunteer and board member with Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts. The enjoyment I receive is listening to the kids say I had an impact on them. I once sat in their same shoes and feel very satisfied to share my experiences with the kids. I also volunteer with Why Me Inc. I truly enjoy donating my time to helping the children and their families who have been stricken ill with cancer. It’s a great feeling to help them in whatever way I can to cope with this horrible disease. I am the in-coming president of the Worcester Young Businessmen’s Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education of young Worcester area businessmen for the betterment of the Worcester business community at large.
Biggest success:
Helping my clients achieve both their business and personal goals. Anyone can put numbers on a tax return, however it’s the ability to have an impact on my clients and their families lives that drives me.
Dream job:
Taking on either a sports or entertainment celebrity as a client. I think it would be so intriguing to see how that type of person ticks.
Businessperson he most admires and why:
I admire Steve Jobs of Apple for his determination and drive. He could have easily packed it in and went home when Apple was being dominated by Bill Gates and MicroSoft, however he has stuck it out and together with a great team designed the iPod, which to date has become one of the more recognized and used products of our generation.
