Richard J. Leveillee

Age: 39
Title: President
Company: Leveillee Architectural Millwork Inc.
Company location: Spencer
Residence: Spencer

Career Highlights:
I am owner and president of Leveillee Architectural Millwork Inc. We are a custom manufacturer of architectural millwork for commercial projects such as banks, hospitals, schools, retail stores, food service, etc. I am responsible for sales/estimating, managing personnel and cash flow, securing financing and insurance and general oversight of company operations.
In 1986, I joined my father’s company R.E. Leveillee Woodworking Inc. as an apprentice cabinetmaker. I advanced into management with responsibilities including drafting, purchasing, project management and estimating. I became vice president, responsible for managing the daily operations before purchasing the assets and forming my own company on Jan. 1, 2006.

Community involvement:
As president of the Spencer Exchange Club, I have been responsible for managing the club and its board of directors, assisting with fundraising efforts, donation allocation and honoring the achievements and generosity of others who contribute to our community. Outside of exchange, I have donated my time and resources to local projects such as building the Prouty Booth at the Spencer Fair, local fundraisers for members of our community in need and volunteering at my church’s annual bazaar. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment and the feeling of helping others and I feel fortunate to be in the position to give back.

Biggest success:
My biggest professional success was as vice president of R.E. Leveillee Woodworking Inc. After the loss of our one major client who accounted for 80 percent of our revenue, I was able to change the focus of the company from 90 percent retail store fixture work to a more diversified portfolio of various commercial projects. At the same time, the business tripled the number of clients and spread 80 percent of our revenue over more than a dozen accounts.

Dream job:
I have always dreamt of being a Hollywood stuntman.

Businessperson he admires most and why:
The businessperson I admire most is my father, Richard (Dick) E. Leveillee. He is now retired, but I have always admired his hard work and dedication to his business and his family.
