Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse ...

June is generally one of the busiest months of the year for home sales closings, but single family homes and condominium sales continued to fall last month, according to numbers released today by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker and Tradesman.

June condo sales experienced the biggest drop this year, falling 12.3 percent from June, 2006. Single-family home sales fell 8.3 percent last month compared to a year earlier, the second-highest drop this year. In May, single-family home sales fell 9.1 percent, according to Warren Group numbers.

Year-to-date, condo sales are down 5.6 percent and single-family home sales are down 4.3 percent with half the year in the books.

Median sales prices for condos and single-family homes also fell in June, down 4.1 percent and 4.6 percent, respectively, from the same period last year.

In Worcester County, single-family home sales were down nearly 14 percent in June, while condo sales dropped 29.59 percent compared to last year.
