LCU Addition Gets Go-Ahead
Leominster Credit Union has gained city and state regulatory approval for the construction of a new executive office and operations building adjacent to its main office on Adams Street.
The building is planned as a 28,500-square-foot, three-story structure and will include an atrium at the main entrance and connections to the existing main office. The main office will be refaced in brick to match the new construction.
LCU said it has outgrown its current headquarters, where it's been located for more than 50 years. The new building will incorporate environmentally friendly technology and its construction will employ local and regional building materials, the credit union said.
A project groundbreaking is expected to take place next month. Construction is expected to be complete next year. A contractor for the project has not yet been hired.
