Age: 30
Title: Associate Attorney
Company: Bowditch & Dewey LLP
Company location: Worcester
Residence: West Boylston
Career highlights:
I am an associate attorney with Bowditch & Dewey LLP, concentrating my practice in civil litigation. Prior to this position, I worked as an assistant district attorney in Worcester, in the appeals division. I also clerked with the Import Administration in Washington, D.C., and for the Massachusetts Justice Project in Worcester. Before I became a lawyer, I earned my MBA and worked as an operations manager and as a management consultant in the industrial distribution and manufacturing sectors.
Community involvement:
I grew up in Worcester County and the majority of my family still resides in the county. It is important to me to be involved in this community. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Rainbow Child Development Center in Worcester. Rainbow provides child-care services, pre-school and a school age program to low income families in the Worcester area. It is a wonderful organization that I look forward to volunteering with for many years.
Biggest success:
My work as an appellate assistant district attorney was very rewarding. As a young attorney, I had the opportunity to argue before the Appeals Court numerous times and made the oral argument for a published opinion. In addition, I am very proud of my published note from law school addressing the plight of Afghani women during the country’s reconstruction.
Dream job:
I am truly enjoying Bowditch & Dewey LLP. The people are wonderful and the work challenging.
Businessperson she most admires and why:
While there are many business people I admire, as a lawyer, the person I most admire is Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her litigation work prior to joining the Supreme Court was progressive, intelligent, and affected change in our society. Ginsburg truly helped shape a new society for women. As a jurist, her work on the bench has been inspiring.
