A COVID-19 testing site at the Mercantile Center in Worcester is closed on Tuesday due severely low temperatures, UMass Memorial Health announced on Monday.

Such cold weather makes it unsafe for both staff and those seeking tests, the Worcester-based healthcare provider said in its announcement. The testing site at 350 Plantation St. will remain open for the day, as will the Stop the Spread testing site at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.

The decision to temporarily close the Mercantile Center location was made based on the National Weather Service wind chill advisory.

Testing is set to resume on Wednesday.
