Retail, food service sales slip
U.S. retail and food service sales for February were $380.2 billion, down 0.6 percent from the previous month, according to today’s report from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Total sales for the December 2007 through February 2008 period were up 3.3 percent from the same period one year ago. Retail trade sales were charted at 2.4 percent above last year’s figures. Gasoline station sales rose 20.2 percent from February 2007.
