Staples Declares $0.08 Dividend

Framingham-based Staples Inc. has declared an $0.08-per-share quarterly cash dividend on its common stock.
The dividend is payable Oct. 15 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 25.
For the second quarter, the office supplies retailer's sales increased by 9 percent, compared to the second quarter of 2008, to $5.5 billion. During the same period, the company's profit dropped 38 percent to $92 million.
