Worcester-based Wright Line, in collaboration with two other firms, has created a free-standing heat containment system for high-density data centers.
Working with Advanced Data Centers and Rumsey Engineers Inc., Wright Line designed and manufactured a server containment system for a LEED-certified ADC facility. The system is designed to be free-standing and scalable.
Wright Line designed the containment system to fit into a typical row of servers with doors that open in both directions to allow ease of access, airflow management and visual indicators for over- or under-pressurization.
The system is being used by ADC's McClellan Park Data Center in the San Francisco, Calif. area.
The ceiling of the unit uses a lightweight steel frame and clear panels that allow ambient room light to illuminate the aisle, rather than energy-wasting supplemental lighting.
Wright Line specializes in the design and construction of environmentally friendly airflow management systems, office furniture, work consoles and enclosures for the high-tech industry.
