WPI, Clark ranked among best national universities

Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Clark University in Worcester were ranked #63 and #103 in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual college rankings, released Monday.

WPI also ranked #86 among best value schools and #57 among most innovative schools.

Clark, in turn, ranked #36 among best value schools and #139 among top performers on social mobility, per the Monday report. 

At the same time, College of the Holy Cross in Worcester ranked #35 among national liberal arts colleges, including #55 in best undergraduate teaching and #95 in best value schools.

The U.S. News & World Report annual rankings are the most widely used standard in the higher education industry, and schools pay attention to their ranking as they try to attract students, faculty, and staff.

Other notable rankings from Central Massachusetts include Assumption University in Worcester, which was ranked #34 in regional universities north, as well as Worcester State University and Framingham State University which were tied for #103 on the same list.

Fitchburg State University was ranked #97 among regional universities north, and Dean College in Franklin was ranked #28.
