Grocer launches credit card

A major New England grocer has signed a deal to create its own private label credit card through JPMorgan Chase & Co. Wakefern Food Corp., parent of the ShopRite and PriceRite grocery chains, will begin offering the new card today. The cards will offer special incentives for purchasing products made or sold by the chain, as well as a single-swipe technology that Wakefern said will make checkouts quicker for customers. ShopRite has stores in Manchester and Bristol, and PriceRite has stores in New Britain, Wethersfield and Windsor.
