Kristin Parker was named risk management consultant in the healthcare practice at Smith Brothers Insurance in Glastonbury. David Burke was named client executive in the healthcare practice. Parker was director of risk management at CMIC and Burke had been director of business development at CMIC before joining the company.
Connecticut Innovations in Rocky Hill announced the following to the board: vice chairman Alan Greene, CEO, AKG Partners Ltd.; secretary Paul Pescatello, president and CEO, Connecticut United for Research Excellence; and board member Stephen Nocera, administrative assistant, Office of the Mayor of Torrington.
Thomas P. Kannam, vice president and CIO of Wesleyan University, was elected to the board of trustees of the YMCA Retirement Fund.
Patricia M. Way was appointed nurse practitioner at Connecticut Surgical Group at its Center for Breast Care in Farmington. Prior to her appointment, Way was oncology nurse practitioner at Riverbend Medical Group.
The Robert H. Lord Co. in Manchester hired Doug Barrows as safety and maintenance consultant in the safety and maintenance division. Barrows was most recently manufacturing engineer with Hussey Seating Co.
Regan Technologies Corp. in Wallingford hired Rich Ferraro as vice president of sales. Ferraro was previously area vice president for New England at MTM Technologies.
Lou Manzione, dean of the University of Hartford’s College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture, was named chairman of the Broadband Internet Council.
Rosemarie Papa was named chairman of the board of trustees at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Papa previously served as vice chairman of the board.
Central Connecticut State University Institute of Technology and Business Development hired Fred Shamburg as instructor of “Lean Enterprise Tool Certification” training. Shamburg is president of Leanovations.
