Venture Forum has appointed three new members to the Worcester nonprofit’s board of directors and named a new chair. After joining the board in 2024, GREG DALLE-MOLLE assumed his role as chair, replacing RON FRASER. Venture’s new board members include: ROSANNA GARCIA, chair of innovation and entrepreneurship at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s business school; ERNESTO MARTINEZ-VILLALPANDO, adjunct professor and entrepreneur in residence at WPI’s business school; and PUNIT SHAH head of growth at Ohio-based advertising agency Allsmith Growth.
Clinton Savings Bank has hired STEVEN TURBIDE to serve as the assistant vice president, mortgage loan originator. Turbide comes from Littleton-based Hanscom Federal Credit Union where he accumulated more than two decades of banking and mortgage experience, growing market share and mentoring new loan officers. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Lasell University in Newton.
KEVIN HAMEL has been appointed to the board of trustees of Country Bank, headquartered in Ware. Hamel, a certified information security manager, brings with him to the bank’s board more than 30 years of experience overseeing information technology, cybersecurity, and risk management throughout financial and healthcare institutions.
MutualOne Bank has promoted SHIHAB BAKARY to assistant vice president, commercial credit team lead of the Framingham-based financial institution. After joining MutualOne as a credit analyst in 2021, Bakary most recently served as a senior credit analyst. He earned his master’s degree from NEOMA Business School in Reims and Paris, France.
MATT WALLY has been promoted to vice president - Worcester market executive at UniBank, headquartered in Whitinsville. In his new role, Wally will work to foster business relationships, create new sales and accounting opportunities, and spearhead efforts to foster new deposit growth throughout the Worcester market. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, and master’s degrees from Clark University in Worcester and Nichols College in Dudley.
TRAVIS CONDON has been promoted to director of public affairs at the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce in Fitchburg. In his role, Condon will head the chamber’s advocacy and public policy initiatives, promote its economic development efforts, and secure the presence of the region’s businesses on Beacon Hill. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Bridgewater State University.
Middlesex Bancorp, the Natick-based holding company of Middlesex Savings Bank, has elected two new trustees and corporators. The company’s new trustees include OLGA “CILSY” HARRIS, currently of Girls Inc. of Worcester and former senior vice president and chief information officer, insurance applications, at The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester; and SEAN BURKE, chief information officer at Middlesex Savings Bank. The firm’s new corporators include TRICIA APPERT, executive of Friendly House in Worcester; and PHILLIP ERNST, co-founder and CFO of Twist Bakery & Cafe, with locations in Millis and Burlington.
SYLVIA RUIZ has been appointed president of the board at Worcester-based Pleasant Street Neighborhood Network Center. In her new capacities, Ruiz will work to utilize community-driven initiatives and strategic partnerships.
